Cookie policy
What this site places on your device, and why.

What is present today, and that is all
- omata:scroll and omata:restore-scroll — your position on the page, so a language switch doesn’t throw you back to the top. Disappears once you close the tab.
- omata:lang — the language you chose yourself.
- omata:toestemming — your choice below, with the date, and only if you made a choice.
- No cookie is placed at all. Nothing identifies you, nothing measures your behaviour in a way that recognises you, and nothing goes to an advertising network.
Visitor statistics
This site is set up to measure, with Microsoft Clarity, how many people visit it, which pages, and where visitors come from. Clarity goes further than that: it also shows heatmaps and session recordings, so how visitors use the page — where they click, how far they scroll, where they hesitate.
To do this, Clarity places seven cookies on your device: two of them set by Ōmata itself, five by Microsoft and also used on other Microsoft services. The full list, with name, purpose and retention period, is in the table below. Together they recognise you across pages, and partly also across visits. That does fall under the rule at the top of this page: none of this is placed before you give consent via the banner, and you can change or withdraw that consent at any time via the "Change cookie preferences" button on the site's own pages. If you withdraw it, Clarity deletes the cookies already placed and ends the ongoing session.
| Name | Who | Purpose | Retention period (maximum) |
|---|---|---|---|
_clck | Ōmata (first party) | Persists a Clarity user ID and your preferences, so consecutive visits are linked to each other. | 13 months |
_clsk | Ōmata (first party) | Connects multiple pages within the same visit into a single session recording. | 1 day |
CLID | Microsoft (third party) | Identifies the first time you visit any site using Clarity. | 13 months |
ANONCHK | Microsoft (third party) | Flag indicating whether MUID is passed to an advertising cookie (ANID). For Clarity this is always set to no. | 10 minutes |
MR | Microsoft (third party) | Determines whether MUID should be refreshed. | 7 days |
MUID | Microsoft (third party) | Identifies your browser across multiple Microsoft sites, also beyond Clarity. | 13 months |
SM | Microsoft (third party) | Keeps MUID consistent across different Microsoft domains. | session |
The periods in the table are maximums: a cookie may remain for less time, never longer.
What Clarity does not do on this site: share data with an advertising network such as Microsoft Advertising. The separate consent Clarity provides for that (ad_Storage) is always set to "denied" in the code, even when you do give consent for statistics.
A session recording can also contain text you type yourself. On this site the entire chat window is therefore explicitly masked, so that no word from a conversation — which may concern health or a claim — ends up in a recording. On "My file", where you are logged in as a client and see your own file, Clarity never loads at all, for the same reason.
Microsoft is not, for Clarity, a processor acting on Ōmata's behalf, but its own, independent data controller: Microsoft determines for itself, within the limits of the Privacy policy and its own Privacy Statement, why and how it processes this data. Microsoft processes the data partly on servers in the United States; for that transfer outside the European Economic Area, Microsoft relies on its certification under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework. How long Microsoft then keeps the underlying measurement data is for Microsoft to determine as its own data controller; that is set out in its own Privacy Statement.
